Practicing Gratitude can Bring Huge Benefits to Your Life & Business

Lately, there have been more and more articles on gratitude research and the benefits practicing gratitude has on a company, its leaders, and its employees.

Benefits of Gratitude

Here are just some of the benefits:

  • Lower stress and anxiety levels
  • Better sleep
  • Improved thinking and problem solving
  • Happier memories
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Improved optimism
  • Better managing skills
  • Improved goal achievement
  • Better productivity
  • and much more!

As you can see, practicing gratitude as a business owner can highly benefit your company.

Gratitude vs. Compliments

Before I go on, I would like to note that practicing gratitude is very different from giving compliments.

A compliment is, “Hi Nancy, you look nice today! Did you get a hair cut?”

And gratitude sounds like, “Hi Nancy, I thought your presentation was great this morning. Thanks for spending so much time on it.”

They feel a little different, right? A compliment barely scratches the surface, while a gratuitous statement is heartfelt and much more meaningful.

Gratitude can be practiced in so many ways, and oftentimes, it doesn’t take more than a few kind words of thanks to really change an employee’s mood or mindset for that day.

Incorporate Gratitude Practice into Daily Life as a Business Owner

To get better at practicing gratitude within your business, you can get better at it by working within your personal life, too.

Oftentimes, when we start a new habit, we’re excited and ready to kick it into high gear. And too often, we find ourselves fading out of that new habit we were so excited about starting within a few weeks.
